Edo Castro: Calendar

The band Rocked. We played 2 great sets. Jill was excellent self. Wow. The house was packed all night. No one left until it was all done and said. I haven't had this much fun since the last time we played together.

The evening was a success. We had a packed house the whole evening. I started off the show with patented Edo tunage with Loops on my fretted bass followed by a Pat Metheny Tune called "In Her Family." Which I performed solo, no loops, nada except my bare hands and strings. I ended the set with a Samba Version of Blue in Green with Ambient whale sounds.
Dave Grossman freaked the audience with his rendition of Bach Cello Suite.
Jeff Schmidt came out roaring with his mind bending open tunings on 5 & 6 string Bass.
Jean Baudin finished the night off with his 2 hand tapping on that 11 string bass. That definitely left a few jaws gaping. All in all a great show. Mark Wright of AccuGroove supplied us with the most righteous Bass Cabinets. Thank you Mark!

The Show was well attended for a Thursday Night. Thank you to Stefano who came down from the Sacramento area. He's a bass devotee! Jeff Schmidt again played brillantly and was superb. He mesmerized the crowd. I had a great set playing some new material and old. A few out-of-place sampled bass licks but I ignored them.

This was a great evening. It was a sold out show. Deborah Winters is a fantastic singer/songwriter who can cross musical genres in a blink: jazz, blues, pop, folk, she does it all.
I playe a few tunes from my 2nd CD "Phoenix" and 1 off my first CD "Edo."
The economics of hiring a band is enormous and I can't afford it. My solution is to go solo. So it's taken me a while to make the transistion. I'm still writing for a "band" format.

My new material went over well so I'm excited and happy about that.
